Merry Christmas and have an Epic New Year
It's that time of year again when work closes up for the year, everyone shoots home to be with family and friends, and you are spoilt for choice with a plethora of gigs and festivals happening all around the country. For those living down under its a break full of Road trips, beaches, surfing, diving, bbqs, everything that makes a NZ/Aus summer sick. For those up top of the world you get the traditional xmas (as it seems everywhere is under the snow at the moment), everyone's rugged up, huge roasts are in the oven being prepared by the family, snow men are built by the youngsters, and there is just a merry feel in the air which goes with the winter xmas
Like all other businesses around the place, at Williregretit we will be shutting down for the xmas period, only because where i'm going we dont have any internet, so this will be the last post of the year. So to hold you over until the beginning of next year i have included a few new tunes which i'm sure you will enjoy.
We have big plans for the blog in 2010 and are looking to push it onto our own site, we have secured www.williregretit.com which will make us alot easier to find, and we are hoping to bring you a lot more content more regularly. So check back here next year for heaps of competitions, interviews, reviews and lots more music.
Merry Xmas and have a safe but Epic new year.

Erol Alkan and Boys Noize - Death Suite
This was a big partnership when Erol Alkan and Boys Noize decided to team up to release a few tracks, and the results did not disappoint. They released some absolute bangers that have gone huge such as Waves and Death Suite.
Death Suite has been one of my favourite tunes this year and i have been stoked to find two epic remixes, one by the masterful DJ Mehdi and the other i found the other day while cruising net. This remix is by a Canadian producer called Grandtheft who is part of the Team Canda DJs. This is my prefered of the two and i love the way he has cut up the samples to create a more free flowing tune.
Check out both remixes and let us know what you think of the two. Get the original by Erol Alkan or the Dj Mehdi edit at beatport now

Kid Cudi and Dim Mack team up for a new remix
Yo, we have a new contributor to the blog, i'd like to welcome Sam who will feature from time to time.
Yo, this track is from Kid Cudi's newest album Man on the Moon: The End of Day. Kid Cudi has come along way since his first big track Day n Night, which was re-mastered by crookers to make one of the biggest tracks of the year. Steve Aoki aka kid millionaire who needs no introduction was recently here in sydney smashing the d-floor apart & getting is long lush locks involved in a massive amount of stage diving! This remix he does keeps to the original quite well, but still has steves killing influenced grinded into it.

Bit o Dubstep for ya
Thought i would add a few new and semi new dub step tunes that i have been in to in the last couple months.
The first tune is a remix of a Daft Punk tune, and i have to say it is probably the best remix of this tune i have ever heard. George Lenton is unsigned producer from the UK yeh, who has released two amazing dub step remixes this year which are sure to get him on the map. Make sure if you are into these tunes you buy them and show support for unsigned producers.
One More Time (George Lenton Remix) - Daft Punk
Weekend Wars (George Lenton Remix) - MGMT
The next tune is a remix of a La Roux tune, Tigerliliy. Now, La Roux has been blogged to shit this year but there have been some mean remixes to come out it all, many in my opinion better than the originals. This remix is by B. Rich
Tigerlily (B. Rich Remix) - La Roux
The last is by a guy that i am very excited to see early in the new year. Joker will be playing at the Days Like This festival in Sydney on January 10 and I'm sure will blow the roof off the place. This is his take on a tune by The Heavy.
How you like me now? (Joker Remix) - The Heavy
Late update, just got this new Joker remix and love it! Check it out, highly recommended.
Radiates (Joker remix) - Riton & Primary 1

The Twelves remix Terry Poison
The Twelves are one of my groups at present as well as being one of my favourite and most repected live acts. These guys add their own little flavour to each show incorporating synths, and effects to thier djing. The Twelves hail from Rio De Janeiro Brazil, and through the blogging world have burst onto the world scene in the last couple of years with their remixes of artists such as M.I.A, La Roux and Groove Armada.
The tune below is a new Twelves remix of a Terry Poison tune who are an Israeli electro outfit consisting of Sivan 'Petite' Meller (keyboard, vocals), Louise Kahn (lead vocals, guitar), Gili Sa'ar (bass) and Idan 'Bruno' Grife (main producer, computers and synth guitar).
This tune was leaked a while back however this second release has gone under the knife by the Tweleves and has emerged as a brand new song which is pretty awesome. Also below is a sweet Twelves remix of The Virgins tune Rich Girls. Have a listen then grab these tunes from beatport.
Terry Poison - Comme Ci Comme Ca (The Twelves Remix)
The Virgins - Rich Girls (The Twelves remix) (Highly Recommmended)

JustDima and Demetra Get their Battle On
I had this new tune dropped in my inbox the other day and am amped to give a local producer some time on the blog. JustDima is an up and coming DJ/Producer from Sydney who you can check out from time to time DJing around Sydney and keeping it real spinning vinyl. His new tune is Get your Battle On, featuring vocals by Demetra
Im loving the cut up vocals in this track and the way the beginning sets up a false sense of security before dropping in to a solid dirty bassline thats sure to get dancefloors stomping. JustDima also has a few other tunes up on his SoundCloud that are also pretty epic so check them out, loving the Men in Black cover.

Dawn of the Dead - Ten Years of Zombie Nation
Zombie Nation have been around for a bloody long time and seem to keep releasing absolute bangers. Florian Senfter released his first EP under the Zombie Nation alias ten years ago and on that EP was the original of the tune below Kernkraft 400. This timeless tune, even back then, was remixed from another song created 15 years earlier for a Commodore 64 game Lazy Jones by David Whittaker called "Stardust".
Since this first EP Zombie Nation has released four albums and numeorus remixes. I was unlucky to miss Zombie Nation last weekend at the Stereosonic festival but will def check him out next time he is over. The other tune below Worth It is a single from his latest album Zombielicious released earlier this year.
Check out both these tunes as well as the album Zombielicious.

Classixx remix Yacht
YACHT was formed in 2008 by Jona Bechtolt and Claire L. Evans and is currently signed to DFA records with the likes of Holy Ghost! and LCD Soundsystem. Since releasing their album Mystery Lights earlier this year these guys have been ripping it up all over the world.
The track below is a fun remix of their massif tune Psychic City by one of my favourite groups, Classixx. Yacht will be playing at Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on the 15 of December so definately check them out. Still waiting for Classixx to come however..

Riton on the way to Sydney for Field Days
Riton is a producer/DJ who hails from Great Britian and is the man behind the record label Switch Recordings.
I found a couple of mean tunes by this guys and thought it rather fitting to post him as the songs are sick and he will be here in Sydney in January for Fuzzy's super new years kick off festival Field Day. Check these tunes and get a ticket to field days.
Who's There? - Riton & Primary 1 (AC Slater/Nick Thayer/Mat Can't remix)
Right Hand Hi - Kid Sister (Riton remix)
After a brief hiatus i give you Yuksek
Geez not having internet at home at the moment makes it hard to keep up the blogging. After a bit of a break i thought i'd better come back with a few posts and plenty of hot tunes to tickle the ear drums.
The first couple of tunes are remixes by one of my favourite artists. I first saw Yuksek live this year up in Byron Bay at Splendour in the Grass and this dude blew me away. He was a one man show tearing up the sounds waves and had the crowd going mental. The first remix is a mean new remix of a tune off Prodigy's latest album Invaders Must Die.
Invaders Must Die - The Prodigy (Yuksek Remix)
(Highly Recommended)
The second is a bit more mellow and a bit more discoy, if thats even a word and is a remix of Amanda Blank's tune Shame on You, Check it.

Dj Zinc's new gig, Crack House E.P
I remember back a few years ago at one of my first DnB gigs, seeing a stand out dj who performed one of the coolest gigs i had been to. Dj Zinc was a stalwart in the industry, respected as one of the top producer/live djs, and the brains behind the major label Bingo Beats.
That was three years ago, now a days Zinc has grown and evolved from DnB explaining that he had become frustrated at trying to fill full sets with DnB that he wasn't into, so looked for another direction. The result? A somewhat new genre Crack House, which is the name of his recently released E.P.
Crack House seems to cross over alot more into the Electro/Tech House genre whilst bringing with it some of the best of DnB's grimey bass and wobbly basslines. Crack House has been released on Bingo Beats and features some big guest appereances by the likes of Benga, No Lay, Sweetie Irie, and Angela Hunte.
The album seems to be attracting interest from the many in the genre, not surprisingly of all is Fake Blood. Grab the album now from beatport and for a taster check out the tunes below.

Algeronics ME & YOU EP out now!
Algeronics is a bit of a child prodigy, producing since the tender age of 14 he has being throwing out the remixes willy nilly over the last couples of years. He caught my attention when I got a hold of his remix of Night Drugs tune Boycott, and i can't stop playing it.
Algeronics hails from the Cali, USA and like many of the emerging producers of 05/06 names his major influence as the French-Electro scene which included the likes of Daft Punk, Surkin, Teenage Bad girl, Justice, Para One, Sebastian, tacteel, Teki Latex etc.
He has just released his first EP on Dirct Drive Digital records and im sure we will see alot more of him to come. Check out this kids myspace and hook up his EP, he has a very bright future.

Partay! Williregretit has launched!
Well, i spoke of this for a long time, and today i gave myself the kick up the ass i needed to get it started.
So here we are, the Williregretit blog, here you will find a plethora of information on local Sydney and international music, gigs, and just random shit.
I wanted to create a place which would focus on giving up-and-coming artists a platform to spread their music as well as fill the the void of boredom i (and hopefuly others) feel each day. The door is always open to others who feel they have anything valuble to contribute, and if you have issues with anything on this blog just flick me an email.
Please excuse the current lack of creative flair, as it is currently a work in progress and hopefully i will get this updated soon.
Thanks for visiting and come back for more updates soon.
Will
