SBTRKT - Surely (2012?)

To say the last month has been busy would be an understatement. With work going gangbusters and music festivals a plenty the blog has been in a bit of a lull state for the last few weeks. But we are back on and will have plenty of new tunes, mixes and news coming your way.

Starting with my favourite, and now seems to be everyone's new favourite, SBTRKT, who recently released this tasty wee number through his Soundcloud. Explanation says it was a bonus track, so assuming it never got on an album but i could be wrong.

The tune has his trademark soothing basslines, with exquisite drum work. Seriously if you get to see his live show you will see how awesome this guy is on the drums, while controlling most of the other sounds going on.

The tune is called Surely, no word yet on any releases or anything of the sort.

Elizabeth Rose - Ready

Ready is a beautiful song by the hugely talented Elizabeth Rose. I have had this on repeat all day and can still not get enough of this.

Hailing from Sydney, 21-year-old electronic-pop producer, Elizabeth Rose, is definitely one to watch. Her debut single released in January which is below and has been getting rave reviews, add one to the list from me as well. The single is from her first EP, which is speculated to be out mid-year. Keep an eye out for this one as, if the first tune is anything to go, by the EP is going to be off the chain.

The Young Turks have taken over Fbi radio this week

Have you heard of the Young Turks record label? If you haven't let me rattle off some of the artists they have brought you. SBTRKT, Chairlift, The XX, Holy Fuck, El Guincho, Bullion and Glasser. Heard of these? Of course you have. Their background is The Young Turks started as a club night in London seven years ago by the now label boss Caius Pawson and has now grown into record label that is launching the careers of some of the biggest artists in the world.

The Young Turks crew is in Sydney town for Laneway this weekend for which they are throwing an after party for on Sunday night. While in town they are also taking over Fbi radio station and playing tunes that highly influence the label and inspire much of their artists. We have two below from this week but tune in the Fbi radio here top catch the remaining shows.

Plus get your tickets to Laneway this weekend in Sydney to catch their latest sensation SBTRKT playing live with his crooner Saphna. Cannot wait for that one.
